This report is extracted from the larger study, Perceptions of public libraries in Africa, which includes six countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Researchers surveyed perceptions of stakeholders including public library users and non-users, librarians, local and national government officials and media. The research was conducted by the social and marketing research company, TNS RMS East Africa Ltd., from December to July 2011.
