In this webinar hosted by the EIFL Licensing Programme, guest speakers Rebecca Tatterson (Electronic Resources Librarian, East Carolina University) and Heather Wilson (Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Librarian, Caltech Library) introduce the CORAL e-resources management system, show how it works, and discuss technical requirements needed to operate CORAL.

CORAL is free and open source software which consists of five modules designed around the core components of managing electronic resources: Resources, Licensing, Organization, Usage Statistics and Management.

Tatterson and Wilson show how the different modules can be implemented and customized by libraries, and walk through a workflow process for processing a new subscription. Their workflow covers the following steps: Proposing a new purchase, Licensing Review, Pay Invoice and Setup Access, Cataloguing, Access Notification, Resource Planning, and Update Faculty. Libraries can set up their own customized workflows.
