FOSTER (Facilitate Open Science Training for European Research) is now accepting new proposals for training events on open access, open research data and open science to be held from January to November 2015.
EIFL is one of the FOSTER project partners, along with (fosteropenscience.eu/project/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31&Itemid=272) 13 other partners across eight countries. The primary aim of the project is to produce a European-wide training programme that will help researchers, postgraduate students, librarians and other stakeholders to incorporate open access approaches into their existing research methodologies. The events should be both engaging and instructive, reaching out to diverse disciplinary communities and countries in the European Research Area (ERA).
FOSTER support
FOSTER is looking to support different types of training events and strategies, ranging from short (one or two-hour) workshops to multiple day workshops, from face-to-face training to e-learning.
FOSTER project members will provide assistance in shaping the training programme, selecting training materials and inviting speakers/trainers. It will also support e-learning processes on the FOSTER training portal.
FOSTER will provide limited co-funding for events (to cover the costs of the venue, training materials, travel of speakers, etc.), to a maximum of 10 000 € per project.
Training in compliance with the open access policies and rules of participation set out for Horizon 2020 should be a mandatory part of the training programme. Participation of FOSTER consortium members as trainers is highly recommended.
