EIFL and JSTOR Backlist E-Books
Agreement provides discounted access to more than 63,000 backlist titles

EIFL has signed an agreement with JSTOR that provides access to more than 63,000 high-quality backlist titles from over 95 publishers.

The agreement is valid until 31 July 2023. Participating institutions can access the collection of high-quality backlist titles for a subscription fee.

This agreement is based on the Evidence-Based Acquisition (EBA) model which allows institutions to keep in perpetuity the most used titles at the end of one year of unlimited access. We expect to renew this agreement at the end of July 2023.

The unlimited-user model allows for unlimited simultaneous use of the e-books, all of which are DRM-free: users can print or download a book chapter.

The agreement covers the following 37 countries:

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Congo, Estonia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lesotho, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Serbia, Slovenia, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe
