The experience and results of the Serbian Public Library Advocacy Initiative, supported by EIFL, will feature at the14th conference of the Serbian Library Association, which takes place at the National Library of Serbia in Belgrade.
About 200 Serbian librarians are expected to attend the conference, which addresses the themes of advocacy, promoting library services and lobbying.
Ms Dragana Milunović, of the National Library of Serbia, will give a presentation titled: ‘Librarians, Expand the Battlefield! EIFL Project Advocacy, Raising Awareness and Communication for Libraries’. A brochure, in Serbian, with case studies showing the impact of public library services initiated with support from the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) will be shared during the conference.
The Serbian Public Library Advocacy Initiative (2015/17) built public librarians’ advocacy and communications skills, and supported development of a national strategy to create and shape new public library services in Serbia.
