The Diamond OA Policy Forum Africa is an online place where policymakers, funders and other open access (OA) experts meet to share, discuss and develop policy and funding mechanisms for Diamond OA and, through it, more equitable, diverse, and community-led scholarly publishing internationally. 

This meeting will focus on funding Diamond OA in Africa, showcasing the strategic funding approaches taken by research funders and universities  in the region. We will also showcase the types of initiatives and models that make funding Diamond OA easier, and there will be time for discussion.

The meeting will be in English and breakout room discussions will be held in English and French.

This meeting is part of the Diamond OA Policy Forum series, organised by the ALMASI (Aligning and Mutualizing Nonprofit Open Access Publishing Services Internationally) project, which convenes national, regional, and institutional policymakers from three regions: Africa, Latin America, and Europe. EIFL is a partner in the ALMASI project.
