EIFL Open Access Programme Manager Iryna Kuchma will attend the CERN Workshop on Innovations in Scholarly Communication (OAI9) that will be held on June 17 - 19, 2015 at the Graduate Institute & Campus Biotech, University of Geneva, Switzerland.
The OAI Workshops are well known for providing a setting where developments in the world of scholarly communication are displayed and discussed.
Iryna will present a poster on Open Policy Network launched in May 2014. EIFL is proud to be a member of the Open Policy Network: a coalition of individuals, organizations that map the open policy space across open sectors; identify open policy gaps and opportunities within and across sectors; communicate the social and economic value of open policy; network together those trying to develop open policies with organizations, communities and individuals who have open policy expertise; and curate case studies and open policy exemplars for others to use or adapt.
Five other posters that will be presented at OAI9 will feature FOSTER, OpenAIRE and PASTEUR4OA projects, where EIFL is a partner, and Confederation of Open Access Repositories, where EIFL is a founding member:
- Building your own: Open Science Training with FOSTER,
- COAR Roadmap: Future Directions for Repository Interoperability,
- OpenAIRE Guidelines for Data Source Managers aiming for Metadata Harmonization and OpenAIRE's Activities in Scholarly Communication and
- PASTEUR4OA: OA Policy Alignment Strategies for European Union Research
These projects and initiatives will also be discussed during “Open Access Café, all you always wanted to know about open access but were afraid to ask”: a session where participants can mingle with various experts, ask them questions in a café-style setting and discuss issues in a very informal atmosphere.
Iryna will be a tutor of FOSTER discussion topic (Facilitate Open Science Training for European Research) updating on the project, training courses and opportunities to get involved – and drinking coffee, of course!
