Representatives of EIFL partner consortia and EIFL staff will travel to Doha in Qatar for the 2018 EIFL General Assembly (GA), EIFL’s major knowledge-sharing event of the year. This year’s GA is hosted by Qatar National Library.

During the three-day event, representatives of EIFL partner consortia will share their achievements, challenges and hear updates from EIFL programme managers on developments in their specialist areas.

Jason Priem, Co-founder at Impactstory will present the new scholarly search engine that he is developing to help the public find, read and understand peer-reviewed research on any topic. The new search engine will be built on an open index of 20 million open access (OA) scholarly articles.

A significant part of the GA will be allocated to discussion of the skills needed for digital research and collecting data to measure the impact of research.

EIFL partner publishers will attend the GA and have the opportunity to meet consortia representatives during interactive speed-dating sessions.
