In less than a year (2014/15), ‘Lyuben Karavelov’ Regional Library’s ‘Fun Financial Literacy’ classes taught 233 children and youth financial literacy understandings and skills including budgeting, saving, spending, banking, credit, consumer protection, and how to access financial services through mobile devices like smart phones and tablet computers. Training methodology was fun, incorporating role-plays, games and competitions.

The project won recognition from the World Bank and local government in Bulgaria. It has inspired other libraries to adapt the training to meet the needs of their communities, and to introduce services based on ‘Lyuben Karavelov’ Regional Library’s experience
